Staying power in the music industry is very difficult. So many bands come and go with nothing to show for it. The discipline and hard work needed to keep pushing forward creating music is not for the faint of heart. Our new friends Stormcellar have been at it for quite a long while and show no signs of slowing down.
The Sydney, Australia based band plays their own version of Roots, Blues, Rock & Folk music. Over the past 11 years, Stormcellar has achieved local and international recognition with three #1 albums on the local Australian Blues & Roots Charts and chart positions in the US and France as well.
The group is also well known for collaborating with a wide variety of successful artists. This has helped Stormcellar become true experts with their instruments and production. Through these connections, the band landed a support slot for The Radiators for an 18 month stretch playing all over the US and Australia.
A great example of their skills can be seen in their video for ‘Crossfire”. Filmed in studio, Stormcellar worked with Alt-Country Singer/ Guitarist/ Songwriter Den Hanrahan and Blues Rock Singer/ Guitarist/ Songwriter Christina Crofts for a full rocking sound that drips with energy.
The songwriting was handled by Stormcellar, but by bringing in these talented friends ‘Crossfire’ was brought to the next level. The back and forth vocals provide something for everyone, and when they join for the chorus and bridge the magic really happens. Adding in an amazing guitar solo battle draws in the instrument lovers too.
We are excited to see and hear more Stormcellar collaborations soon. Keep up with the band on their WEBSITE.
