New Orleans soul and R&B band Tank and the Bangas announce new Friend Goals EP on November 20th via Verve Forecast. This up and coming band is also sharing their lead single “Self Care” with a colorful music video to match. This fun new track features artists Jaime Woods, Orleans Big, and Anjelika ‘Jelly’ Joseph.
Tank and the Bangas continue to make themselves known after their major-label debut album Green Balloon back in 2019, and snatched a Grammy Nomination for 2020s Best New Artist. Friend Goals has tons of featured artists like Chicka, Duckwrth, PJ Morton, while even having some New Orleans-based musicians and creatives hop in on the project to show some love for their roots.
Member of Tank and the Banagas are frontwomen and lead vocalist Tarriona ‘Tank’ Ball, saxophone and flute player Allenback, drummer Joshua Johnson, and keyboard player Norman Spence. All of these musicians come together to create a fun and free new single, where everyone can relate to the message, but can still take something new away from the song. “Self Care” has all the essence of this year’s quarantine highs and lows, but all the excitement and movement that makes this band so memorable.
Furthermore, ‘Tank’ says that their new single “Self Care” is “THE quarantine song to get you moving! It shows that some of the best things can come out from solitude, especially when the beat hits this hard.”
